Horham & Dairy Care Farm - Referrals

We offer day care placements to young adults from 18 years old with varying physical or mental health conditions and learning disabilities. Our aim is to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable people by working outside with animals and horticulture. Our day sessions provide structure and routine as well as respite. Activities typically involve animal care including helping out in kidding season when our goats give birth, bottle feeding goat kids, maintaining fencing, repairing and mucking out animal housing, planting vegetables and working in our small herb nursery.

Referrals can be made by health and social care professionals, teaching staff, parents and carers. If you already have a personal budget in place you are also able to self-refer. Placement fees are dependent on the level of support required and day sessions are from 10am to 4pm from Monday to Friday.

Low support needs - £55 per day (staff ratio 1:3 to 1:6 support)

Medium support needs - £80 per day (staff ratio 1:2 support)

High support needs - £120 per day (staff ratio 1:1 support)
