About Horham Care Farm CIC
What is a Care Farm?
A Care farm provides a structured programme of farming and related activity and the benefits of being outdoors in the fresh air and working with animals has proven benefits to mental and physical health and wellbeing, particularly for young people with learning difficulties or who are unable to cope in mainstream education, children suffering with obesity, elderly people living in rural villages who often feel lonely and isolated and people suffering with anxiety, stress or depression. Health professionals are also recognising the therapeutic benefits of being outdoors and working with animals.
Working on a care farm can help put someone’s life back on track by providing meaningful activity and a practical daily structure. Our co-farmers will get involved in a range of activities which are based on seasonal jobs around the farm as well as maintaining the nursery, working in the dairy and helping to package our products for retail sale.
Our staff are qualified and have had enhanced DBS checks and Safeguarding training.
